Happy New Year! We moved Cordelia into her new bedroom at the end of August right before school started. We did a large decoupage of a tree that turned out really well. I never transfered the pictures from the camera to the computer and it turns out the disc was damaged or something so most of the original shots are gone. These are the bits that survived. The room looks good but it’s not done yet. At some point I’ll finish the last few projects and take more pictures.

Goodbye little girls’ room. Cordelia has moved into the former office and we are starting to convert my studio into a new room for Veronica. There are more pictures at my flickr photostream.
I just loved this room!

While swim practice keeps us slightly scheduled, I’ve already managed to lose track of what day it is. (this is good!!) We celebrated the last day of school with a visit to the new Scratch bakery for breakfast.
And we celebrated the first day of vacation with a trip to Pittsboro where we had a tasty lunch at The General Store Cafe and a little bit of shopping. Cordelia got a vintage tea pot shaped like a peach and Veronica got a one of a kind, hand made octopus from Davenport & Winkleperry.
I’ll be at the Craft Market this weekend, my last Saturday for a while. I should be back late in July. I plan on updating and adding to my Etsy shop (best laid plans…) I’ll definitely have some new items this weekend at Central Park.

Anyone who has spoken with me over the last few days can tell you I am ready for my kids to be done with school. I’ve been practically begging the girls to play hooky yet they want to go. How did they get to be so responsible?
One of the benefits of their dedication is that they have both brought home library discards to read over the summer including this absolutely beautiful, albeit slightly worn, 1959 edition of The Golden Treasury of Myths and Legends with illustrations by Alice and Martin Provensen. Love!

Time flies! I finally sat down with my calendar to see when I was available for Craft Marketing through June and July. My updated schedule is in the right hand sidebar. It’s been so hot over the past few weekends that I’ve conquered my fear of melting in the summer heat.
Above is a glimpse of a new skirt design I’ve added to my repertoire.

In addition to braving the new ice age, I’ve been busy trying to get a little bit of home organizing and improvement done before I get caught up in the Spring markets.
We’ve got a milestone this weekend, Cordelia will turn 10! Which is requiring some sewing and crafting.
Plus I just found out I was accepted at the Designers Downtown Market for March 13th so I’ll be super busy for the foreseeable future.

Happy 2010!
I’ve been doing a ton of laundry. It’s pretty much the largest portion of what I have done so far this year. It dwarfs all other efforts. I’m the Hercules of laundry. I’m hoping to have a wider variety of pursuits as the year progresses!
